In this exciting and action-packed game, you will chase down immature white blood cells (AKA blasts), while avoiding harm to the healthy cells (red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets). Once you catch these blasts, you must obliterate them. The more blasts you blast, the harder the game will become. Don’t forget about taking care of the healthy cells and replenish when necessary.

Notes from the Beta Testers

“The development of this game was a labor of love to support a worthy cause. I highly recommend this game as a teaching tool and a fun way to pass the time.”

"You could play it all day long if you wanted to"

In the human blood stream there are three kinds of cells, the Red Blood Cell (RBC), the Platelet (PLT), and the White Blood Cell (WBC). Each of these cells have a different use to the body. The RBC carries oxygen to your muscles and vital organs, the PLT makes your blood clot so you dont bleed, and the WBC prevents infection.
When someone has leukemia, the WBCs are immature (don’t fully form) and fill up space. There isnt any room for the other cells to grow. That is why when people get leukemia their blood doesnt clot (no platelets), they get infections (no white cells), and they feel weak (no red cells). These not-fully-formed versions of WBCs are called myeloblasts (“blasts “ for short). The most commonly used treatment for leukemia is chemotherapy, which uses certain drugs to get rid of the blasts. Chemotherapy also sometimes gets rid of the good cells like platelets and RBCs, which is not good. Like this game, you have to balance destroying the blasts (blasting the blasts) without killing too many of the good cells. That is what cures leukemia. So good luck, and lets cure some leukemia!

This game was made because my mother was diagnosed with leukemia and I wanted to raise awareness of this disease. I thought that the best way to do this was by developing a game that was both fun and educational. I thank the people who purchase this App because they are supporting research toward a cure for leukemia and they are also supporting my mother.
